Hi Kevin,

Unfortunately we do not have any contact with Dan or Peter at Dan-Snow.co.uk. I can’t see that they would revisit that series as it was about 7 years ago now. It would be interesting to hear about Burma though – my grandfather fought there too!

hi dan with you and your father doing the series about famous battles there was no mention of burma/kohima/imphal are you going to do another series if so can you do one of the forgotten army in ww2 as my father fought there with the queens royal regiment thanks and i hope to hear from you soon

The shot of the Oxbridge-college-like place following the conversation was *not* Trinity College Cambridge.

The hoard consisted of a few thousand different Saxon items made of gold and silver - I think the programme mentioned there were 1500 of them and did show us some of them like the crosses and the sword pommels, but looking at the wikipedia page it says there were more like 3000 different items. Does that help?

I have just watched a lovely programme on bbc2 about the staffordshire hoard, but at no stage was I informed as to what the hoard was! Can’t think of the last time I was so frustrated! I am about to burst!…why go to so much trouble to make a real and wonderful story

Hi Dan
i have been interested in your programs for quite a while now.I have been doing my family history mainly about my dad who was captured on Crete in may 1941 and eventually a pow at stalag 1V a .i wanted to know how he got from Crete to Elsterhorst and was vry fortunate to be put in touch with a POW who now in his 90′s who told me quite a lot.
This year is 70th of this battle but hardly anything has been mentioned about this.
The man i met has a diary writtten by his friend about their experiences.There are not many of them left now.My Dad died in 1988 and i have some photos etc of his time in India before the war and as a pow.I wonder if you are interested in this sort of thing and of course the ww2 survivors are getting older.Thanks anyway.Joan

Enjoying the programme on HMS Warrior. During the American Civil War when the Warrior was in it’s infancy, it once met the Confederate States Steamer Alabama at sea having just set fire to an American merchant ship. One of the crew who was on board had seen this and died in 1918 in Liverpool
